How many married actresses can command a price at par with those of top heroines in Bollywood?

None! But Kajol is an exception. The swarthy and super-talented actress is learnt to be getting a whopping Rs 2.5 crore for Karan Johar’s next movie My Name Is Khan . It’s a considerable increase for the actress who reportedly charged 1.5 crore for Kunal Kohli’s Fanaa a few years back. Since then, Kajol has only worked in hubby Ajay Devgan ’s directorial debut U Me Aur Hum . Family has become Kajol’s priority and it took Karan Johar some amount of persuasion to convince the actress to end her brief sabbatical with ‘My Name Is Khan’. And like a producer who appreciates true talent, Karan is said to be offering Kajol a market fee commanded by top actresses in Bollywood.

For Karan, Kajol is more than a fine actress. She is a lucky mascot and always graces his films with cameos. In ‘My Name Is Khan’ Karan is repeating the sizzling on-screen pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol for the third time. In fact, Kajol is playing a full-fledged role in Karan’s film after a gap of 8 years. The lady whose smile is enough to brighten the screen is smartly juggling her career as well as home. She is a doting mother to her 5-year-old daughter Nysa, and is also very supportive to her husband Ajay in planning movies. With ‘My Name Is Khan’, the gorgeous actress is on same footing with top actresses like Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif , who charge more than Rs. 2 crore per movie.

Voila, Kajol!
